WINDFORCE FORENSICS

Storm & Insurance Claims

Carriers and policyholders rarely disagree about the presence of damage — they disagree about what caused it. We’re a team of experts who answer questions with measurements and weather data rather than opinion. (And we’ve done it from both sides of the table.)

Windforce Forensics

What We Do

After a hail, wind, or water event, we inspect the structure and the building envelope, document the damage in detail, and tie it to the storm at issue.

That last part matters more than people expect. A roof can have hail bruising from a storm 3 years before the claim. Separating old damage from new is often the entire case.

We’ve testified for insurance companies arguing a claim falls outside coverage, and for homeowners arguing the carrier owes them. Our experience on both sides is why our reports hold up: We already know the argument the other engineer will make.

The Typical Questions We Answer

  • Was this damage caused by the storm in question? Or did it predate the claim?
  • Is the failure consistent with wind, hail, water, or a maintenance issue?
  • Does the repair scope match the actual damage? Or is it inflated or understated?
  • Did the original construction meet the wind and structural code for this location?

Why WindForce Forensics?

Coastal wind is our home turf.

WindForce was built on Gulf Coast windstorm engineering, from Texas around to Florida, and on tornado work up through Oklahoma.

We understand how these structures are supposed to perform in a storm because we design them to perform that way the rest of the time.
